Abstract

The objective of the research project titled “Living Better Samutsongkram: Driving the Creative Economy based on Cultural Ecology and Communities Way of Living” is to effectively manage and preserve primary cultural information that showcases the intricate interplay between individuals, their surroundings, and the ecological aspects, ultimately giving rise to a distinctive way of life in the aforementioned provinces affected by conflict. The primary objective of the Geographic Informative Cultural Atlas is to establish a comprehensive geographic information system that facilitates the comprehension of both environmental and cultural expenses. The mechanism entails the active participation of government agencies, civil society, the public and private sectors, and stakeholders in order to foster regional development, enhance social and economic aspects, and cultivate artistic and cultural knowledge for the advancement of urban areas in the Samutsongkhram Provinces. This approach ultimately aims to evaluate cultural communities based on economic indicators. This research project demonstrates the correlation between cultural and natural assets through the utilization of cultural ecology as a means of integration. Through the utilization of the projects output, (1) Geographic information system of cultural ecology, 121 sources. (2) The cultural areas that have been established through the process of “conservation” in collaboration with four areas. (3) The cultural area is formed by the process of “rejuvenation” of two areas. (4) The implementation of activities and workshops aimed at fostering cultural awareness and enhancing community engagement A total of 11 activities were conducted, involving a total of over 400 participants. (5) To encourage entrepreneurship and support the cultural products of local communities, it is imperative to cultivate artistic and design abilities. This will serve to raise awareness and effectively convey the worth of 24 productive and cultural arts. (6) Promote creativity and improve the areas capacity for delivering cultural services through the establishment of a route that facilitates the promotion of ecological, cultural, and river-based tourism. There are two possible routes. The outcome of the research project has created a network of work and collaboration mechanisms from all sectors in the area and supported local entrepreneurs with a deep understanding of their own culture. At the same time, they can present concepts and activities to develop and drive communities in new dimensions, but not on a basis that is consistent and appropriate to the local context.
